I’m John Park. I rig CG characters for animation at Walt Disney Animation Studios. I’m currently working on Rapunzel, to be released in 2010. Previously I worked on Bolt (2009) and Meet the Robinsons (2007). I’ve been in computer graphics since 1994 and have worked at White Wolf Game Studios, International Business Machines, Novalogic, and Sony Pictures Imageworks.
I am also a builder of contraptions. I write about them in Make: magazine and am the host of Make: television, a technology DIY show on Public Television.
Along with Brian Jepson and Tod Kurt, I started a company called WingShield Industries to design and build electronic and mechanical hardware hacking/prototyping kits.

I wrote a book on learning Maya called Understanding 3D Animation Using Maya, which you can purchase on Amazon (that’s my affiliate link; purchase through that and I’ll get an enormous 5% kickback).
Don’t enjoy reading? Not a problem, I also created a video training series called Maya 8.5 Fundamentals with over 7 1/2 hours of me talking at you and showing you how to do stuff in Maya.
